Since I weaned off of a lot of my meds, my stomach has been quirky. Generally, it hates breakfast, which used to be my very favorite meal. For a while, I did my best to eat something. A larabar was the easiest answer. Now, however, I’ve accepted that my body doesn’t really want food before 11 am. Then, I still have to play it pretty safe. It’s usually eggs over easy or something else very bland. I get hungry again between 2-3, but my stomach is still a mess. I usually munch on nuts or jerky. By dinner, my stomach is fine and I can eat normally.
To fill in the gaps during the day, I am involved in a love affair with juice. 100% juice. Cranberry (which I know has apple mixed in.) And guess what? As soon as I started supplementing my diet with juice when I can’t eat in the morning/afternoon, I started losing weight. I’ve dropped about five lbs. in the past month. Not sure why that is.
If I think I can stomach it, I’m still a big fan of protein shakes. They are usually an afternoon thing. I like egg protein the best. Here are two of the GNC egg proteins that I have. (Brian is also a fan of the egg protein in addition to this smelly green stuff that he drinks that is made from grass, bacteria and something that smells awful.)

I prefer my protein with almond milk. My blender cup is my best friend.

I also make sure that I take my vitamins every day. I am taking a multi with iron, calcium and fish oil from GNC.

I was taking B12 for a long time, but during my last round of blood work, it came back high. So I’ve cut that out of my regimen. I also take a probiotic, but forgot to put that in the photo.
By dinner, I’m usually pretty hungry. My current favorite is tilapia and roasted carrots.

Any ideas for really bland breakfast ideas for someone with a sensitive stomach who can’t eat dairy? (Yogurt was my staple breakfast for months. I know that it is supposed to be okay for people with lactose-intolerance, but after the milk incident, I’m afraid to try it again. That was three days of hell.) I’m hoping that this will start to pass soon and that I can resume eating a normal breakfast.
What kind of fish do you prefer? I generally prefer white fish or tuna. I blame it on the east coast childhood. (Honestly, I prefer shrimp, but I know that it is bad for the environment, so I don’t eat it.)

Yum! I love Tilapia. I’ve never tried roasting carrots, but I am currently obsessed with roasting eggplant. I could eat it all day long, no lie!
I am a huge fan of Bob’s Gluten Free quick oats. I keep those at my desk as well as organic freeze dried raspberries, cinnamon, honey and coconut oil. They make a nice breakfast and are easy to digest for me.
