My office is connected to our bedroom. Our bedroom contains the number one piece of cat real estate in the house. My nightstand. In the morning, much to my dismay while sleeping, the sun blazes into my window. The cats come to the nightstand to roast.
I’ve witnessed a lot of fights on that nightstand. Recently, however, I saw this.

(That window can be cleaned every day, but it will look like that in an hour if the cats are allowed in. I think Elmo tries to make out with the heat of the sun.)
Yes, you are seeing that correctly. Tiki is sitting on Elmo. Oddly, this didn’t provoke a fight. As soon as Tiki saw me with the camera, he got up.
I figured this was a one time thing. Of course it wasn’t.

Should I be disturbed that Elmo doesn’t seem to care? Perhaps it means that he gets even more heat than the sun provides and he is doubly happy. I suppose this is better than them fighting.

Whenever I think your cats can’t get any stranger, they do. Tiki and Elmo seriously need their own book. And instead of it being a coffee table book, it can be a nightstand book. And someone should speak to Elmo – he should at least pretend to be embarrassed.
If looks could killl, Elmo would be dead. And I think Tiki is still considering that option. HILARIOUS!
Haha. That’s fricken hilarious!! I think if our cats tried that on each other someone would be in a LOT of trouble.
I think that first picture is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen my hairy cats lay together, but I’ve never seen one sit on top of the other.
Holy mother of pearl that’s amazing.
You know, Doggle sat on Homedog’s head once, out of sheer confusion, and Homedog just gave me this pitying, “it’s cool. He doesn’t know better” look. (Homedog’s a pit and by god, the smartest, sweetest thing ever.) Maybe Elmo just decided that Tiki’s… Off.
