Blogging Tips: Content Brew and DIY Blog Critique

I read a lot of blogs for work. I give tips to people on how to improve their blogs. I also get a lot of questions about how to create good content and avoid burn out.

I always refer people to the site MomComm. Melissa’s blog critiques were critical when I redesigned this blog, so I believe in the information that she shares. (She’s now doing Page Critiques which are going to help me in a big way as I redo my own pages.)

Right now, Melissa has new sessions of Content Brew open for registration.

This class is all about planning for your blog’s content. If you have ever suffered from burn out or writer’s block, this class is for you. With the information that you leave with, the price is an absolute steal. It’s not just about content either – you’ll learn to increase engagement. Content calendars are an amazing tool. You’ll also learn to be more efficient and how to bring in traffic! This is like attending an intense conference, without the high dollar conference price tag.

Melissa also offers the DIY Blog Critique ebook.

I have it and I love it. As I mentioned, I used Melissa’s tips (and this ebook) when I was redesigning my blog. I cannot stress how valuable it is in making your site user friendly and awesome. Simple little things that you may not have considered doing. (The social buttons became a big part of my design after reading this and Melissa’s critiques.)

Since I recommend these so much in individual emails, it seemed like it is time to tell everyone. These have my full stamp of approval and I don’t suggest blogging tools that I don’t love.

  1. One of these days I am going to take her class. I have been a MomComm reader for over a year and love her useful, practical, and helpful advice. She’s straightforward and has a great sense of humor.

I’m going to go over that e-book again and see if there is anything else I can improve on my blog. I know my About page could use a bit more oomph (at least I think so) and I think a good critique will help with that.

  2. Thanks for sharing! I’m looking forward to downloading the ebook and visiting the site!

  3. Melissa is such a rock star. This one sounds like a terrific course.

  4. Thank you for the info. Been going back and forth about my blog design so just ordered the download. Looking forward to reading it.
