Happy Valentine’s Day! This year, we are extra thankful in the Liss household because my father survived his stroke and my mom still has her Valentine. Since my father is still feeling some of the residual effects of his stroke, I asked some of my FitFluential friends to give him tips on how to keep a healthy heart. There are also some great fitness tips too!
Dad, Robin was going to write a post for you about yoga and heart health, but then she saw this one and thought it summed up things nicely. So she wanted me to pass along this link. Check out Heart-Opening Yoga Stretches.
Tamara has some great tips for improving heart health. She also gives you a kick in the pants about the cost of medication!
Dad, Heather gave you fantastic custom tips on cardiac-related nutrition therapy. They are fantastic and you must check them out.
Morgan came up with a recipe to a YUMMY heart healthy burrito recipe that I think you and mom should definitely try! (I know I am going to.)
Sahar has three simple ways to cook heart healthy. And they really are easy.
Alexandra and Kymberly have some great information that will help when your balance isn’t that great.
Here are some great tips on balance and posture, also from Kymberly and Alexandra.
And, last, we have this awesome personal message for you from Carla.
For every person who submitted a tip, I’m donating money $5 to the American Heart Association. I’ll donate $5 for myself to make it an even $50 since I preach it whenever I’m on the phone with you guys.
Readers, here’s where I need your help! I want to give more in honor of Heart Health on Valentine’s Day.

Help me support Heart Health on Valentine’s Day. For each tweet on February 14th, I will make a donation to the American Hearth Association, in my father’s name. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than that.

Between tweeting of birds and kittens on the go-go, let’s create a menagerie of love for your dad so he recovers enough to notice you cleaned out all his twinkie-level foods. Hugs and kisses and no kittie scratches!
Tweeted! I really love your idea with this…a great way to raise money! I’m gonna consider doing something similar with a cause I support in the future!
Tweeted! love this post, it is very special!
I love this Danielle and not just because the tiny cameragurl and I joined in.
