What I’ve Been Doing for the Past 90 Days

I can’t believe it has been so long since I’ve posted. I honestly feel guilty that I am taking a few minutes now to write because my to-do list is so very long. But I need to write something here. And, when I’ve been gone for a while, you know I like to make a list.

  1. I’m gluten-free. Have been since October. This merits a very long post and will get one. It has made me feel so much better.
  2. I’m crazy in love with frozen Lifeway Kefir. Plain.
  3. I am not getting enough sleep.
  4. I’m super pissed at a relative who is behaving like a total jackass.
  5. I celebrated my 4th wedding anniversary on Thanksgiving. I’m so grateful that I have a husband who understands that his wife is a busy lawyer and part of a start up that is growing really fast.
  6. Speaking of that start up, why aren’t you a member of FitFluential yet? Please don’t make me beg.
  7. It’s been 900 years since I’ve been back east to see my family. I got really sick before my brother’s wedding and I didn’t get to go. I miss them.
  8. Rogue apostrophes are an epidemic. Still. It’s like no one cares.
  9. Unicorns. They’re amazing.
  10. Breaking Bad was FANTASTIC this season. Dexter is not as good, but it is an assload better than when Lumen was on.
  11. I would like pastel streaks in my hair. I suppose it isn’t lawyerly, but that doesn’t change the fact that I want them.
  12. The cats have been on a diet for three months. They’ve lost a lot of weight. Tiki looks less like a bowling pin. They act like they are being starved. They only care about me when I am feeding them or sitting under a Snuggie.
  13. I have 400+ emails in my inbox, no matter what I do to keep it under control.
  14. Some lady stole my eyebrows when I got them threaded at a new place. Things are a little out of control while I let them grow back into their Lauren Conrad/The Beauty Department style glory.
  15. I bought a sewing machine two months ago. It’s still in the box.
  16. I scheduled my last payment on the Danielle Deficit. It’s gone in December, as planned.
  17. I was going to have a kickass giveaway in honor of paying off the Danielle Deficit, but then I realized that I need to be more practical with my money. Know what that is? PROGRESS.
  18. I don’t spend nearly enough time with my friends. I miss them. Hell, my husband is right over there. I miss him. And sleep. Sweet, sweet sleep.
  19. I miss gluten until I accidentally eat something that has had cross-contact. And then my stomach hurts really bad. Then I remember that gluten wants me to die and I don’t miss it anymore.
  20. Husband won an award for his pro bono work on behalf of victims of domestic violence. I am not supposed to talk about him here, but I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to mention how proud I am. I had tears in my eyes as I watched the video of his boss and client talking about his service.

There. That wasn’t so hard. I have A LOT of stuff to post about. We haven’t talked about the conference I went to during the fall. My amazing trip to Boulder. The awesome stuff we did for Thanksgiving. My ongoing war with a certain furniture company that is DEAD TO ME (but I haven’t had time to write a letter to them detailing the reasons why they are dead to me). The reasons why gluten-free bread tastes like ass. Why I am keeping the “corn sugar” people in business and why that isn’t okay. We need to catch up. But right now, I have some more work to do and then I need to get a bit of sleep.

I’ve missed you, friends.

You are one busy lady. I am so happy that I was able to see you this past weekend. Even though we do not get to talk often, please know that I am here if you need an ear. Or if you want me to answer some of those emails! lol

    You know…
I know you think that you are drowning in work (and am pretty sure you actually are), but you have a way of making it look effortless, and even more so you still have time to help out your friends and others who ask of you. Pretty awesomesauce if you ask me.

Although, I am not sure why we are friends as my grammar sucks, and I was sure you would ditch me for that a long time ago…
Also, tell your husband thank you!! I think that is pretty amazing of him.

Keep Kicking Ass and Taking Names. I forgot to tell you, I found The Last Unicorn in the bargain bin. I grew up on that movie, and pretty sure I haven’t been that happy over a bargain score in ages.

    Xo

I recently watched all but the last season of Breaking Bad using Netflix, but the last season isn’t available yet. I am so seriously hooked and can’t wait to see it! I haven’t been so hooked on a show since I don’t know what. Northern Exposure?

  4. Anxiously awaiting the gluten post. I might need to do this. How did you know that you needed to go gluten free??

  5. Patty says:

    I’ve missed you too!

  6. I loved this post. It gave me the feeling of catching up with you, since I know how busy you’ve been. And about #8 – the whole apostrophe thing makes me crazy. I edit stuff all week long, and if I see the possessive plural of clients spelled like this “client’s” any more, I’m going to mess with the writers’ bios!
Thanks for taking the time to post. And congrats on all the wonderful things. Maybe you’ll meet your Dec. deadline for your other dreams too!

Don’t get me started on rogue apostrophes. I’ve been seeing them everywhere as well and I’m ready to scream.

Welcome back to the blogosphere! Congrats on all your successes this year!

Like Lindsay, I’m curious to read the gluten free post. The WHY and the HOW.

Keep plugging away you are awesome!

  9. There seems to be more and more people that have a gluten sensitivity. My sister has gluten sensitivity as well. I would love to see some of the gluten-free recipes you are trying or a sample meal menu for a day. :)
