As I said earlier this week, my appointment with my fibro doctor didn't go as expected on Monday. I also said that I would discuss it when I was ready. Now seems like a fine time.
For months, maybe even since the beginning of the year, there's been no doubt that my thyroid was hypo again, even with the medication that I'm on. My dosage was increased, but that didn't help. My blood was drawn and labs were analyzed. I got the results on Monday.
My adrenal system is not functioning very well. By very well, I mean, like an adrenal system. My thyroid has decided to take one piece of my compound medicine and turn it into a bad hormone that essentially balances out the other hormone. So it is like I'm not getting any thyroid medicine at all. And it's been like this for months. A non-functioning thyroid. For. Months.
That certainly does explain a lot, doesn't it? Most of all, it explains that I'm not crazy. It's not in my head. I am able to tell when my thyroid is off now.
Slowly, new medications are being added to the mix, which is why my doctor pulled me from work. She wanted me in a calm and controlled environment where I could rest when needed, as much as needed, while my body gets adjusted again.
This should be an easy fix. It should be a matter of changing the type of thyroid medicine that I'm on. I hope it is that easy. The new thyroid pills start tomorrow. (I've already started new supplements to boost my adrenal system, so it will be ready for my functioning thyroid.) Maybe then I won't need hours of naps each afternoon. Speaking of which, I need one of those now.

I had something very similar going on with my thyroid. Have you ever considered trying a holistic or natural approach? I highly recommend the Nevada Clinic… Dr. Olsen. I take thyroid supplements and homeopathic drops that have done WONDERS for my health. I know not everyone is in to this, but just thought I’d share…
