My Second Giveaway

So, the second giveaway is … not picking up steam.  To quote my father, it's going over like an egg salad fart in church.  I asked Robin and she said that I made it too complicated.  I was all, dude, you just have to throw some juice and maybe soda together and give it a name and you can potential win hundreds of dollars worth of stuff.  Do you hear that?  That is a lot of stuff.

In an attempt to make it easier, I will accept the following:  for the name of the mocktail, you may call it, "here's your damn mocktail, Danielle."  Right now, I don't care if you tell me your favorite cocktail.  Just make up a mocktail recipe.  And right now, I'm sort of thirsty, so I'm looking forward to seeing your responses.

I am also extending it until Friday, March 5 to see if we can get a few more people.  I will not, I repeat, will not consider my father's repeated attempts to poison and kill me as real entries.  (If you are new to the party, Walmart Romeo is my father.  He's now going to change it up and enter one as Guy Fieri's Evil Twin.  He will threaten me with nuns, trash cans, whatever he thinks will work.)

Please do enter.  These are good prizes.  Here is the link again.  Enter there.

Please forward to anyone you know who may be interested.  Much appreciated.  Oh, and if this sounds like begging – it is.  We're going to random.org for the next giveaway, which is beauty themed.

Lavender Lemonade
Okay, I don’t know if you’d consider this a mocktail, but it’s a hell of alot better than some of the cocktails I’ve had. We used to make this for bridal teas where I used to work. It’s a little labor intensive if you make it from scratch, but worth it!
You can either use homemade lemonade (you know, squeeze your own lemons, add some water, sugar and ice) or cheat and mix-up some Country Time. Either way, make it slightly more concentrated than usual because you are going to dilute it a little with the lavender water.
Then you take dried lavender (enough to fill a few of those fancy mesh ball things people used for teas) and steep it in boiling water at least 10 minutes (use about 6oz. of water per ball). For a pitcher of lemonade, I would add 2-3, 6oz. cups of lavender water.
Garnish with lemon wheels or a sprig of fresh lavender.

Here’s a great mocktail recipe:
1 quart of Jack Daniels
1 glass
Pour Jack Daniels into glass. Mock your neighbors.
Enjoy! (PS: I vote for Kelly W).

Kelly: I’m not a fan of lavender so how do you think this would taste with mint as a substitute? Did you ever try it? I’m assuming it will be too tart. Ok, I talked myself into it – I’m going to try it with mint instead.
Great recipe – thanks for sharing!

are we supposed to post here or on the original post? just in case, i will be diligent and post in both places. my apologies for being repetitive.
from one frugal lawyer to another:
carbolic (high)ball mocktail: a nod to that first year contracts case we can’t forget.
serve in a highball glass.
1. chill the highball glass.
2. add ice.
3. pour ginger ale over ice.
4. add a splash of strawberry kool-aid for good measure.
5. top it off with a lemon twist for aesthetic value.
enjoy!

Hmmm… not sure about the mint. You’ll have to let me know how that goes. :)
